Dearest Family!

Oh i have been DYING this whole week waiting for the updates today! It is so crazy. Oh it sounds like it was the greatest week. Im so glad that the temple and the farewell at went so well. I loved seeing the pictures. Can not wait until we can all go do temple sessions together!! And then going out to eat after for sure... it will be the best! And ky! Everyone has said that you did so well. And even thought I wasn't there to hear it I JUST KNOW YOU DID! it makes me so proud. oh Ky you are going to be the BEST missionary ever. Im so excited! Its crazy that it all starts this week! BE SO EXCITED! Just love it ky. It will be the best. But even better is that I get to see you in 2 years. 1 year down - 2 to go. Piece of CAKE!

Ive laughed a little bit with the scripture of the week last week that you sent dad because OH goodness it applied this week. So it was so inspired - thank you. But it was just one of those weeks where it seemed like everything was falling apart a little bit. Just craziness with everything going on and friends loosing contact and appointments falling through and then the worst is that NO ONE wanted to hear about it. Serving in England there are a lot of people that don't really care about religion but this week it was almost funny how just no one was interested. As soon as we said the words 'Jesus Christ' people immediately shut down and would just walk away. It was a little frustrating and a lot of the week I spent too much of the time just trying to figure out what I could improve on, what I could do more effectively, how I could be better so they would listen. We had accounting on Sunday night and I went off a little bit to my District leader asking what I could improve or what I could do better to help the situation. ANd this lovely inspired Elder thought for a minute and then asked where our faith was/if i felt my faith was strong. It hit me as I realized that this whole week had been so hard becuase I was so focused on myself - that If only i could improve or do something differently that people would listen. That I would be convincing enough or powerful enough that they would listen when in reality NOTHING I DO WILL EVER DO ANY OF THIS WORK. I can always be obedient and dilligent and do my very best but in all reality I am nothing and this work is in the Lords Hands. He is the one that will prepare people who will listen even with my inadequacies, He is the one who will lead me to those who are ready, He is the one who has promised I will find people to help, HE is at the head of this and It has nothing to do with me. Ky another thing of advice is just to always remember that. too much of the time on my mission I have been weighed down with feeling like I am not doing enough or being enough and that I need to change - all for righteous desires of just furthering the work and serving my saviour to the best of my ability.  But as I do that I shift my focus from Him and trusting Him, to myself. and all that that brings is a really rough week. SO just trust him. understand that things take time and that we cant do it. We can't do a mission, we can't lead a family, we cant go to work, we can't do any of it by ourselves - and when we forget that it is all hi that is when we really struggle. It was a great and humbling reminder this week that I just have to trust him. We all just have to trust him and recognize that we are weak. He has made us that way so that we can continue to lean on him. And being weak is okay! So ky, as you go to the MTC this week just remember that for the next 2 years you just need his help. Its not about you at all - even with how wonderful and amazing you are :) - if you try to do it you will fail and you wont be happy. Trust him and you will see miracles and enjoy everyday in his service.

But yeah! It was a harder week but such a good one. It is always the harder weeks that we learn the most! :) I was reminded to trust the lord and to be grateful! even in the craziest and hardest times when we remember him and recognize what he has done it all gets better!

But im so glad that it all was such a good week! I was thinking about it all week long and especially all of yesterday. ky i hope you know just how much I LOVE YOU! And how grateful I am to have the blessing of getting to serve a mission with my best friend. It is going to be the BEST! And I know that if anything It will just bring us and all of our family closer. It is the greatest adventure and most incredible blessing getting to be a representative of Jesus Christ - who has given us EVERYTHING! The least we can do is go out for a couple years to show him how grateful we are. Im so grateful for your incredible example! I LOVE YOU ELDER GWILLIAM! Will be thinking about you all week!

I LOVE YOU FAMILY!!!! So grateful that we are sealed FOREVER! I know this gospel is true and that Jesus Christ has made it all possible.

Talk to you next week!

At elder oaks.
THANK YOU BRADSHAWS!!!!

All of the England London south mission after elder oaks.

Outside Hyde park chapel! It was a beautiful morning and HF was merciful enough to hold the rain back until after our group picture then it started. And I was smart enough to not bring and umbrella or a jacket. You would think I would have learned by now.... :)

Worlds best Family!

>
> Hello!
>
> It has been the craziest and greatest week! I have been DYING to tell you all about it! It sounds like things have been pretty crazy back home as well. So crazy that Ky leaves so soon! Ah how does time go so fast! sounds like you are doing so many fun things though and living it up! Such an exciting week coming up too! Its all just so great. SO excited for you ky! Its the very best and just make the most of this week!
>
> But over here in England this week was mental! I LOVED it! So many incredible experiences and just so many prayers answered through leaders. THE BEST.
>
> So first off, ELDER OAKS! Oh it was amazing. He is so funny! That is something that I love about getting to hear Apostles in more laid back settings - Elder Oaks is the only one Ive seen in person but in the MTC we watched one from Elder Bednar and they are just the funniest men. Its so great. I love seeing them just like people. It was so great though. On Monday night the sisters from Havent came to stay with us.We got up at a crazy hour of the morning to all get ready and then we traveled to LONDON. OH it was SO NEAT! I can't wait until we all get to go together. Sadly we didn't get to walk past buckinham palace... :( BUT i did see a sign and walk on the road it was on! We had to walk from Victoria station to Hyde Park and I just remember being excited to get to the chapel but also remembering to take it all in - enjoy the fact I can just walk around London and tried to take it all in. We got to the chapel - which is so cool as well! I have a picture I will send, It is just RIGHT there in london. Next to all of the big history museums and all of that stuff - which fun fact for you - all of the museums in London are FREE to the public. Mom history of London for free. We will go. But it was wonderful. We got there a little before 10 and they walked sister couper and I right up to the front row - we studied until Elder Oaks arrived and then we got to all shake his hand and meet the other area presidency that was there with him. It was so neat. We were sat right next to where elder oaks was shaking hands as well and it was the neatest thing to get to watch all of the missionaries go up and shake his hand. Just the excitement and getting to watch Elder Oaks. Oh so great. I was able to say the prayer - which was such a great experience - and then the conference was incredible. A lot of what was talked about was opposition. How as we serve here in England there is a lot of opposition. Elder Oaks even talked about how a lot of what we do is to prepare the people - there are a lot of places where the people are more prepared at this time to accept the gospel where other countries we are here to prepare them so one day they will be ready for it. But how in all of that we should thrive in the opposition and not get discouraged. Elder Oaks laughed about the comment that for every door we knock here someone gets baptised in Mexico. Haha he is so funny.,,, BUT i love that idea. That it is a team effort. Whether I serve in England or I don't know... Argentina ;) We are all just out here doing the same thing and as long as people are being taught and baptised and becoming converted to Jesus Christ that is what matters. THat is all that matters. But i just felt so lifted after the meeting. All of the talks were just to keep pushing forward, not get discouraged, and that as long as I am doing my part of working hard and being obedient and testifying of Jesus Christ I have done my part - the results are on him. And no matter what Heavenly Father loves me and is proud of me. It brought a lot of comfort hearing that from one of his apostles.
>
> The next day we had MLC with all of the Zone leaders, president and sister gubler, and then as well they invited all of the district leaders - so all of the leaders in the mission. It was crazy becuase GUESS HOW LONG IT WENT? ALL DAY, really all day long. We left the flat around 7 in the morning and got home 10 minutes to 9. Oh it was insane. So so good but long. Just with so many people and so many different opinions there was a lot of counselling and trying to decide what was right for the mission and the missionaries we were over. It was so great. I just LOVE president and Sister GUbler so much. I love getting to spend time with them and the other leaders that have become some of my greatest friends. KY! With your mission just decided right now to just LOVE your mission president. Do everything you can to gain his trust - just be obedient! :) and listen and follow his counsel. And then become friends with the missionaries around you. Love them and serve them, I kow you will meet some of your best friends through the mission - its so neat how you instantly just bond with these people because you are all there trying to do the same things and work on improving. OH its so great ky. Youre going to love it.
>
> The next day we had District Meetings and then exchange. It was great. We also took our friends to the temple on Saturday. We have been working with this boy who is 10 and his mom is an excommunicated member who is working on being rebaptised but its taking a little bit of time. Cameron has been taught everything but was wanting to wait off until his mom could be baptised with him. We took him to the temple though and Tanya, his mom, bore the most powerful testimony of how she wants him to go ahead and get baptised. She said how proud she was of him and his good example and promised she would follow and so we were able to set a date with Cameron! It was a MIRACLE!
>
> Another miracle of this week was about 2 weeks ago Sister Couper and I were contacting on the bus and I turned behind me and started talking to this boy named Josh. He said he wasn't sure about religion and a belief in God but would be willing to meet and try it out. I got his number and set an appointment for 2 weeks.... when he set it so far away I was sure that he was just setting it to get me off his back... BUT we called him on wednesday and he had remembered. We met with him and asked why he was willing to meet/what he was looking for in meeting with us... and COOLEST STORY EVER... but he said all of his life he had been jealous of those who had faith. He wanted something to belief in and hoped there was a god but just didn't know anything about it. He decided one night that he would pray.. he said he didn't know really who he was praying to or why he deicded to but he asked for help and direction.. and then the next morning WE TALKED TO HIM ON THE BUS!!! So he said that he believes it was god answering his prayer and he wasn't really sure what we were about but was willing to learn because his prayer was answered. HOW AMAZING IS THAT? Oh i love being a missionary. So cool. he came to church too and just bonded so well with the ward. Sad story is that we realised yesterday that he lives out of our area... :( So we will have to refer him over but as long as he is taught and comes to know that it is true is all that matters! Really neat testimony builder to me though that Heavenly Father really does answer prayers and is there preparing his children. he is at the head of this work. Im grateful to be apart of it.
>
> I also got a parcel from the Bradshaws. Tell them THANK YOU SO MUCH! Oh it made my day. and everything in it was PERFECT! Just what a sister missionary needs. So please pass on mythanks. Im so sad that I couldn't see them while they were here. Hope they loved it. I want to hear all about it when I get home though!
>
> And I got your funny letter that linds had left dad about soccer. Oh i was DYING! She is so cute. I can't believe how big she is getting. But oh thank you so much for sending it! I jsut laughed and laughed. And so did sister couper! :) Such a fun surprise! Thank you!
>
> But oh my family i just love you! I will be thinking about you all week long with everything going on. KY i just love you! I have been praying and praying for you and know that it is all going to be the BEST EVER! I know that what you are doing is right and I am just SO grateful for your good example and willingness to serve. THANK YOU! I am so excited to get to be out serving with my best friend. Have the best week though and just enjoy all the time you have together! And keep me updated with all of the pictures. It is going to be GREAT!
>
> I LOVE YOU so so much! Remember even though we are far apart for a little bit of time it will ALL be worth it. We will be together again soon and then forever after that as well! So grateful for this gospel and that it makes that possible.
>
> Talk to you next week!
>
> Sister Gwilliam
>
> OH and Sister Hiatt goes home tomorrow. So crazy! If you see her tell her I love her. Our grandmas were so right, we would have been the BEST of friends.
>
> AND I am staying in Sutton with Sister Couper! YAYYYY!!!! oh im so happy and so grateful! We are still the STLs and just loving being together! I am so grateful and excited to be here!

Hello my most wonderful family!!

I LOVE YOU!!! So so much.

Oh my goodness! It sounds like it was the craziest week! KY CONGRATS
ON GRADUATING!!! Oh I loved the pictures! It sounds like it was a good
day... Long one (like any good graduation:) ) but so good! You looked
awesome and everyone looked so happy! AH KY I CANT BELIEVE YOUVE
GRADUATED! So crazy. You're so old. Wish I could have been there!!

But this week is so exciting!! TOMORROW I GET TO LISTEN TO ELDER OAKS!
I get to be taught at the feet of an apostle - LITERALLY at his
feet... Because guess what?? I got an email from president yesterday
that I have been asked to say the opening prayer in the meeting
tomorrow! AHHH!!!! I will be praying in the meeting with all of the
London mission and the London south AND elder oaks. Isn't that crazy?
But what makes it even better is that because I am apart of the
program Sister Couper and I have assigned seats on the front row.
BOOYA!!! So oh man. I'm so excited. We get a train tomorrow at 8 to
travel ACROSS THE RIVER and then will get to walk through London to
then go get taught by a member of the 12! How incredible is that? Oh
I'm just so excited. I can't even wait. And I get to be right there
with him! It's crazy. I feel really blessed. We called the assistants
and they said they don't know who choose the program as well.... So
I'm not sure how I was lucky enough to be chosen but I'm so grateful.
So do you know what else this means? That Gwilliams are OBVIOUSLY
incredible at praying considering Ky gave the prayer in stake
conference. That's right Ky. We are no big deal or anything. ;) haha
just kidding! But I am super excited! And not even nervous! I have
been talking to my Heavenly Father for almost 21 years now - it will
be a blessing to get to talk to him tomorrow too! AND I will get to
shake elder oaks hand. He will be there to greet all of us. So it's
just a really neat day. Sister Couper and I are going out after this
to do a little shopping.... Such an important day means needing an
important outfit!:) haha! We also have some sisters who I LOVE
traveling up and staying with us tonight and tomorrow so they don't
have to travel so far in the morning to get into London. So it's a fun
week! Can't wait to tell you ALL about it next week!:)

With that- next week is the end of the transfer- isn't that MAD?? It's
so crazy. I don't know how this happens. So I won't be emailing until
Tuesday next week. So sorry to make you wait a little longer!:) but
oh. I am PRAYING I STAY! I just love it here and LOVE sister Couper
.we have 10 sisters coming info the mission so a lot of changes have
to take place but I'm hoping and praying we stay. Isn't it funny how
much I didn't want to leave Aldershot and now how much I want to stay
here. Missions are always a good reminder that heavenly fathers plan
is SO MUCH better than ours. We just have to trust him. But yeah. I'll
let you know what happens next week when I, hopefully still in Sutton!

And mom - our address is but might want to hold off sending anything
just with transfers... Or just send it to the temple that is always
safe!:)
But here it is because I have FAITH I will be here for a while -
3 kingfisher court
37 Grove Road
Sutton
Surrey
SM1 2AG
LOVE YOU!

But this week has been incredible. Seriously so many miracles. We have
2 of our friends progressing towards baptism now! We had a teach with
one of our friends Adam this week and it was one of the best lessons I
have ever had. We really focused on his needs and going by the spirit.
he opened so much and told us that he believed this was true. He
talked about how he had felt things were missing in his life and that
he wanted to be BAPTISED! Ahh... Music to missionaries ears! It was
incredible. We are still teaching our cute Korean friend Jessica who I
just love. We have to get her husband on bored though... He isn't too
keen on religion and because of hat no matter how great she is and how
strong her desires are she is put off from progressing until we get
his permission. Please pray for his heart to be softened!! We ended up
having 5 of our friends we had invited/are investigating at church
yesterday and 3 of the less actives at church. It was madness. I feel
like we see running around trying to make sure everyone was okay  and
taken care of and oh man. It's exhausting. Church can be he craziest
time of the whole week! It was such a Miracle though! 5 PEOPLE! The
work is really progressing. I love being a missionary!

I can't really think of anything else that happened... Haha it all
blurs and I feel like I blink and all the sudden the week is over! But
it really is such a blessing to be here! I am happy. Sister Couper is
one of my BEST FRIENDS and pushes me to be better everyday. The ward
is awesome - I am constantly in awe of the good members of our church.
Just always there to reach out and help. And I grow closer to my
saviour everyday. I really know that he lives and that he loves us.
I'm grateful to know that as long as we put the gospel first in our
lives that everything else falls into place. Ky. Just be SO EXCITED
FOR YOUR MISSION! It's hard work but that just makes it all even
better!

But I love you all so much! Hope you have the BEST WEEK! Have so much
fun having grandma and grandpa there and just everything going on. It
sounds busy! Just make sure with everything going on to just spend
time together! It is honestly the best thing to do and what will mean
the most/ what you remember.

I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!!! Pray for you EVERYDAY!

Love you,
sister Gwilliam
